Wannsee

It was a beautiful fall day on October 3 which is the Day of German Unity Holiday. Since I had the day off work we thought we would go out and visit Wannsee which is in the Zehlendorf section of Berlin. This area includes the beautiful Lake Wannsee and many Historical Summer homes on the lake. Also this area is the home of the Haus der Wannsee Konferenz. It was here in 1942 where the SS meeting was held and decsion made on the final solution for taking care of the Jewish population. Of course, I brought my camera along and we enjoyed a lovely walk along the lake. We were unsuccessful in seeing the Haus of the Wannsee Konferenz as it was closed for the holiday. We enjoyed lunch and ice cream outdoors before returning home. Here are some of our photos from the day.
