We continue to enjoy life in Berlin as we approach midway through our time here. Many things are now so familiar. Germany continues to rebuild and renovate and construction of roads is an ongoing issue. We realize that maintaining the infastructure is necessary, but we don't like the inconvenience.
On a brighter note today is the American Holiday of Veterans Day. I want to honor all our Veterans, but also enjoyed a day off work. I decided this was a day for my visit to the hairdresser. We have an upscale hairdresser just across the street so in the mode of pampering myself I chose today to get my hair cut and highlighted. This part of the city is so internatonal as I was getting myself pampered on my right was a customer and her hairdresser speaking French, while on my left the conversation was Russian. I was pleased to have a German hairdresser who could also converse in English. They also served me Cappucino and true to German style you are served a cup and saucer, not a styrofoam or otherwise disposable cup! The decor of the shop is all very modern in black and white. The stylists all wear black and even their latex gloves are black. Also of note they even put little plastic bag protectors on the bows of my glasses.
