Craig and I took a trip to Thessaloniki, Greece August 7-13. We arranged this trip so Craig could attend the Annual Meeting of the European Association of Biblical Studies. We also wanted to continue to visit the sites of the Journeys of Paul from his missionary trips. After preaching in Philippi, Paul planted a church in Thessalonica as detailed in Acts 17.
We were able to combine attending this conference and seeing so many historical sites during the same trip! Thessaloniki today is the 2nd largest city in Greece with a population of about 1 million. We were able to see the contrast of the modern and ancient city and enjoyed this trip so much.
We took a day trip in Philippi and I decided to limit this entry to Thessaloniki only, so that will follow soon.
I tried hard to limit the photos, so just flip through the ones that don't interest you and hopefully you will enjoy the rest.
